Why is a “practitioner lens” important in creating Systematic Investing strategies?
To begin with, practitioner experience plays a critical role in establishing our confidence in the source of return, and thereafter, how we prioritize our resources, the quality of our data sets, and our ability to implement these strategies. Over many years of active portfolio management, we have captured millions of data points relating to the instruments we model and trade – much of which is proprietary or, in our opinion, have not been captured by most market participants. We believe that this may give us an information edge. We also feel that our experience trading these strategies fundamentally has given us an implementation edge when developing systematic strategies.
